Throughout the year, Bolton Refuge House participates in and hosts a variety of support groups, community events, awareness campaigns, and family activities. Check out what events are coming up soon:
April 2021 was our first year lighting up the footbridge in Phoenix Park in Teal! Individuals and businesses were able to sponsor a night of River Lights - one night where the bridge was lit in teal, in solidarity with victims and survivors of sexual assault. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the bridge was teal every night in April! Donations also went towards printing and distributing materials on sexual assault and our services.
Thank you to all those who helped us make this happen - our work would not be possible without the support of our community!
April 2021: Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Color FOr A CAuse
Color for a Cause started in 2015 with a BRH Intern with a dream. She wanted the community to have a way to show their support of survivors of sexual assault, and so Color for a Cause was born!
Every year during April (Sexual Assault Awareness Month), supporters can go to many area salons during the month of April and have a teal hair extension put in to show their support and to raise awareness in our community. Check in with us next year for the details on going teal!
River Lights in Phoenix Park
June 2021 - LGBTQ+ Pride
Thank you to all who joined us at Eau Claire's Pride in the Park on Saturday, June 12th. It was a joy speaking with all of our LGBTQ+ neighbors, and we especially enjoyed all the contributions to our "Self Care Board!"
We hope to see you all next year! Click here for more information about our LGBTQ+ Advocacy.
Children's SUmmer Camp
Thank you to all who participated in the 2021 Summer Camp! We had a blast creating art, learning, and eating snacks with all the kiddos. Check out the wonderful artworks created by the attendees!
OctobeR: Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Day of unity: Phase 2 video
Oct 6th is the Day of Unity. This is a day where we honor the sacrifice of Officer Robert Bolton, our namesake. Last year on the Day of Unity day, we released part one of this project, which was a video documenting the history of our agency. Please take a moment to watch this video to learn more about the history and evolution of Bolton Refuge House services through first-hand accounts.
River Lights in Phoenix Park
For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, local businesses and individuals are helping us to light the River Lights in purple! To view these lights, go for a walk or drive through Phoenix Park after dark and before 11 pm. If you or your business would like to sponsor a night of purple River LIghts, please click the button below to fill out a form. Thank you for helping us show solidarity with victims of domestic violence.
Purple Porch Project
Please join us in showing solidarity for victims of domestic violence by decorating your porch in purple for the month of October! If you choose to participate, please tag us on Facebook (@BoltonRefugeHouse) and use the hashtags #purpleporchproject and #DVAM2021!
