LGBTQ+ Advocacy
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. Because this statement is at the heart of our services, the LGBTQ+ Services Program is available to help meet the needs of LGBTQ+ victims and survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault.
BRH provides shelter, support groups, outreach services, legal advocacy, and has partnerships throughout the community to meet the specific needs of LGBTQ+ people who have experienced sexual assault or intimate partner violence. Our services are completely confidential, with the option for anonymous help as well. For youth over 14, we do not have to communicate with parents or guardians.

How to Have a Healthy Relationship with Yourself
May 26th, 5pm-6pm
Chippewa Valley LGBTQ+ Center
505 S Dewey St, Suite 204
Eau Claire, WI 54701
Participants will learn how to have a healthy relationship with themselves, especially as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. We often hear the phrase “I’m dating myself” or “self-care”, but what does that mean? Spoiler alert - it doesn’t just mean being alone!
We will discuss how we take care of ourselves and how that relates to so much in our lives and in the world around us. Self-compassion and self-care are incredibly important for everyone, and especially for individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. And these things are even more important for members of the LGBTQIA+ community who live in rural areas, where finding community can be even more difficult. Join us as we all learn how to date ourselves- together!
